Michael
Director
Originally born in China, Michael moved to the United States at a young age. He attended Darien High School before obtaining a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University and a Master's degree from Duke University.
Following his education, Michael involved himself in and started several different businesses before eventually following his true passion of helping others. He has since worked for over a decade volunteering at different organizations before eventually starting The Achievement Fund. Having worked in college admissions for several years, Michael knows the ins and outs of what it takes to get into college, and he has dedicated himself thus forth to helping the underserved chase their post-secondary ambitions.
Joe
Board Member
Since childhood, Joe has been fascinated with the built and natural environments. His appetite for understanding the towering skyscrapers of New York City and ever-changing Yosemite Valley alike is what inspired his professional careers and hobbies that encompass mechanics and nature. His hope is to inspire students of The Achievement Fund to follow a path that fuels their unique curiosities, leveraging their passion to become tomorrow’s innovators, leaders, and teachers.
Joe received a B.S in Civil Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and later served as a graduate teaching assistant in real estate finance at Georgetown University. Since then, his work as a civil engineer and real estate consultant has included a variety of land development projects and real estate investment along the US east coast.
Jin
Board Member
Jin is a Board Member of The Achievement Fund who is passionate about education, travel and helping people and society in myriad ways. With two generations of education-related professionals in his family, he grew up with a respect and passion for education. Growing up in South Korea, he has seen first hand the disparity in access to quality education. Experience teaching students in South Korea and as a teaching assistant at New York University further showed him the importance of a quality education. Outside of nonprofit work, Jin is a financial industries professional who assists institution across the globe in providing products and services in a safe and sound manner. Jin has a Master of Arts in Economics from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University.
Alexander
Junior Board Member
Growing up between New York City and Long Island, New York, Alexander has been an active member of his community. He has always loved giving back and finding ways to lend a helping hand. With a passion for the ocean, Alexander has worked with multiple local charitable organizations and is now assisting The Achievement Fund. He is currently a senior at Dwight School and tutoring for The Achievement Fund to augment his existing voluntary roles.
